The PPH Project is dedicated to tackling the global issue of postpartum hemorrhage, a leading cause of maternal mortality and morbidity.
The EPPH-i plans to launch the “ROAMING” blood group typing and donation scheme to increase availability and access to safe blood. This innovation, akin to a walking blood bank, aims at mobilizing volunteers to have their blood tested and get them to donate blood. All such donors will be registered and networked through social media platforms and mobile applications to donate blood whenever they are required. The project is aimed at saving mothers in rural communities by mobilizing over 1 million donors over 5years. A pilot phase is scheduled to take place in Pumwani starting on 15th September 2025. The blood drive will be undertaken in partnership with Kenya Red Cross Society, Kenya Tissue and Transplant Authority, Eldon Biologicals and Access Bank. The project is part of the EPPH-i activities of Run for Her and Save Her Life. It was announced during the 5th stakeholder consultative forum held at Pan Pacific Suites on August 22, 2025.
